Finished the body!

I can't believe how quickly this is knitting up! I love the yarn, I love the pattern -- life is good! I even got the exact gauge with size 9 and 13 needles.

Just one little nitpick/warning about the Neckline Decrease chart -- in rows 21 on the right side, the YO and K2tog are switched places, and the same thing in row 23 right above it.

Started on a sleeve today, and I've decided to knit the sleeves in a round -- anything to avoid more seams than absolutely necessary. I cast on with size 9 dpn's and then switched to very short size 13 circulars after the increase. This means making it 1 stitch smaller -- casting on 24 sts., increasing to 30 sts., etc. I'm also planning to do sleeve top shaping later on.

Just one question bothers me -- why do smaller sizes have longer sleeves than the larger sizes? XS sleeves are supposed to be 22" long and 3X sleeves are supposed to be 18" long. This doesn't make sense.

Wingspan is roughly the same as height, regardless of how wide a person is.

Since the body of the larger sweaters is wider, the sleeves need to be shorter.

In the case of this pattern the small sweater is 15.5 inches wide plus 2 sleeves at 22 inches each for a total wingspan of 59.5 inches.

The large sweater is 27 inches across plus 2 sleeves at 18 inches each for a total wingspan of 63 inches, making the large actually larger than the small even though the sleeves are shorter.

Hmm, the shape of my sweater looks so much different than everyone else's...but I guess they all come out the same once they're been blocked.

I was thinking of knitting my sleeves in the round too. I hate seams!
